    Hurricane Helene/Asheville Updates

While our Asheville terminal was damaged in the flooding and remains closed, we are operating from an interim local terminal. Freight operations in the region are running at close to their pre-flood capacity.

To further support Asheville operations, our terminals in Hickory, NC, and Chattanooga, TN, are handling pickups and deliveries in outlying areas. Many next-day lanes to and from Asheville are running, and transit times are as published.

Damage to the Asheville region was severe, and several roads and areas remain closed and require substantial repairs. Many local businesses remain closed, or have re-opened at reduced capacity or with shorter business hours. Delivery to residences in outlying areas remains challenging.

Serving our customers remains our top priority, and we’re working closely with both business and residential customers to accommodate their needs as conditions continue to work back to normal.

We plan to rebuild a terminal in Asheville, and we’re equipped to efficiently handle local freight until it opens. If you have additional questions about local freight, please email us at asheville@estes-express.com or call (828) 298-8140.
